A huge thank you and well done to the hardy 18 volunteers who braved the 41 mph winds to litter pick around Seaton Sluice on Saturday 26 September.

Lots of cigarette packets, plastic bottles, bottle tops, wrappers and loads of cigarette butts (which are not biodegradable and leach plastic and toxic chemicals into the environment, leading to land, water and air pollution).

Around 12 face masks (7 by the Co-op) and 2 pairs of plastic gloves.

Hotspot areas were in the vicinities of The Co-op and The Astley Arms car park.

Thanks to the Residents’ Association for the delicious cake and cuppa in a Covid secure environment afterwards.
